6 Importance of a quality management system

All organizations have their set ways in which they do things. Their target lies in how well they do things so that they satisfy all stakeholders, employees, business partners, and authorities. This way of doing things is referred to as a management system.

The more complex definition of a management system is that it is a framework of procedures and processes used to ensure that an organization can fulfil all tasks required to meet all its objectives.

Let’s get a little technical. Quality is described by ISO 9000 as the degree to which a set of inherent characteristics of an object can fulfill its requirements. The words here are chosen carefully and are broken down as follows:

  • Inherent– A factor that is already existing in the object and not assigned to it.
  • Degree– Quality is variable
  • Object-anything that you can perceive. Quality here can describe both tangible and intangible objects, i.e. the quality of an engagement.
  • Requirement– A stated need or expectation.

 So how can we define a quality management system?

 A quality management system or QMS is an official, formalized system that documents procedures, processes, and responsibilities with the goal of getting quality policies and objectives. It helps to give direction to an organization on how to meet customer satisfaction, regulatory requirements, and still be efficient and effective on a continuous time frame.

Evidence-based decisions are, perhaps, the best way of removing subjectivity from leadership because the process of making the decision can be queried against existing facts and research.

They understand that the success of an organization is not a management affair but everyone.  Improving how your employees communicate with the organization by offering them opportunities for constant feedback by facilitating a two-way system communication method. A QMS will eventually help your company earn more profits. Consistency, happy employees and a well-rounded institution tends to earn more trust from customers and industry players. Growth in profits then becomes a “when” rather than an “if.”
